** Insert, overwrite & append text at specified location : Using the application you could insert a text in all names at a specified location. For example : You could insert a text "Holiday" at 5th character. Using "overwrite" option, the characters at the specified position could be replaced by new characters. (before the extension) For example : If you append text "NEW" to a file "test.png", the new name will be "testNEW.png" Using "append" option, the text could be appended at the end. ** Search & replace text : Search for a text in the source file's name and replace it with the text of choice. The first search will be performed in the source file's name.The subsequent searches will be performed in the derived names. ** Remove characters from desired range : Remove characters from a desired character range and generate new file names without those characters. ** Lowercase and Uppercase conversion : Change the generated named to all lowercase of all uppercase. ** Change file extensions : Change the extension of multiple files easily.
For example : The file extension ".jpg" could be converted to ".JPEG" in multiple files at a time using the application. You can use this app to rename files in their current folder, or move them to a different folder with altered filenames Works well, but no Help file or documentation Once all changes are done, the files with new names could be saved to a folder of choice. On Phone #1 my files’ names looked like this: I used this app to rename photo files taken by one smartphone to match the date-and-time pattern of files taken by another smartphone. To integrate (merge) these two sets of files with the result having all photos in chronological order, I used this app to rename the files from Phone #2 to match the filenames from Phone #1. I was able to insert hyphens (-) and periods (.) in the right places, and replace the space with an underscore. Two usage notes: (1) In an Insert or Overwrite operation, position 0 is *before* the first character, but in a Remove Char operation the first character itself *is* position 0.
It would be better (app developer, please note) if the first character of the filename were always “1” in all operations.
(2) In a Remove Char operation, if you want to remove the "n-th" character, specify “n” for the From position, and “n+1” for the To position. For example, if the filenames begin with ABC and you want to remove “C” (character position 2), you would expect to enter From=2 and To=2. However, this will not remove any characters.
